In 2010, Poland suffered from 4 floods that caused enormous damage.

Spring is the good time to start many interrupted repairs. The inhabitants of Sandomierz, Wilków, Bogatynia and Gąbin who suffered from the floods will be given support from us. Decora S.A. is going to transfer finishing materials to them.

The significant number of the inhabitants from the places affected by the natural disaster lost their whole property. The repairs, bigger or smaller ones, will be performed in ca. 700 buildings in only Sandomierz. In Wilków, 100 homesteads are qualified for demolition. Due to the flood many people must start their life from nothing. The repairs and reconstruction of houses require huge financial expenses. Construction and finishing materials might be bought by only few people. Therefore, the management of Decora S.A. decided to support the flood victims with our products.

In the second week of February the first cargo of donations in kind was shipped on site. Finishing materials (among others, roller blinds and curtain rods) were given to flood victims from Sandomierz. Next, the donation will be given to Bogatynia, Dolnośląskie province, to the inhabitants of 40 temporary flats. Our products will also be donated to Gąbin and Wilków in February. - We are staying in regular touch with the coordinators responsible for passing the supportive donation in particular regions. We are going to currently observe the needs of the victims and we will try to meet their expectations. The subsequent part of the donation in kind is to be given in spring, in the special period before Easter, which is the time of intensive repairs for many of the flood victims – says Barbara Bojarczuk, Personal and Administrative Director of Decora S.A.

Other cargos of finishing materials are going to be given in spring and early autumn. Total value of the donation in kind will amount 150,000 PLN.
